Volkswagen Posts Best October Sales Ever
All-New 2011 Jetta Leads the Way
Volkswagen Canada is pleased to announce October new vehicle sales of 4,306 units, representing the best October ever for the company. The figure was 22% better than last year''s total of 3,545. Year-to-date, the total of 37,717 is 12% above last year''s sales of 33,664.
The all-new 2011 Jetta showed a tremendous gain of 164% over the previous year''s sales, with customers taking delivery of 2,234 vehicles, as compared to 847 in 2009.
Also impressive were sales of the Golf, up by 48% in October to 607, from 409 a year ago. Year-to-date, the Golf is up by 68% over 2009. The Golf GTI was also up by 37% for the month, and is now selling at a rate 142% better than the previous year.
TDI Clean Diesel sales continue to impress, and accounted for 30% of the total. Volkswagen now offers this fuel-saving technology on the new Jetta, Golf and Touareg sport utility models. TDI Clean Diesel provides drivers with all of the advantages of high mileage and expanded vehicle range, without sacrificing drivability or utility.
