Additional Benefits

If your car breaks down, we’ll pick up the tab for renting a replacement vehicle while yours is being repaired. Coverage includes a maximum of fifty dollars ($50)* per day up to two hundred dollars ($200)*. In addition, you'll also get a maximum of three (3) days’ rental coverage if there is an engine or transmission parts delay, and two (2) days’ if a vehicle inspection is required.

If your car breaks down more than one hundred and sixty (160) kilometres from your home and a repair facility needs to keep your vehicle overnight, we will pay or reimburse you for motel and restaurant expenses up to one hundred dollars ($100)* per day for a maximum of five (5) days. Maximum total benefit per breakdown: three hundred dollars ($500)***.

For 24-hour Roadside Assistance, call 1-866-689-0840 to receive eligible benefits. Coverage includes a maximum of one hundred dollars ($100) per occurrence, with no deductible on your part for any of the following Roadside Assistance benefits:

• Towing
  We will arrange to have your car towed to the nearest authorized Volkswagen dealer or authorized repair facility.
• Winching
  If your vehicle needs to be winched from any ditch, mud, sand or snow, we will send a service provider to help you, provided that your vehicle is in an area immediately adjacent to a regularly traveled road.
• Battery Boost
  If you can't start your car because of your battery, we will arrange to have your battery boosted. If your car fails to start with a boost, it will be towed to the nearest Volkswagen dealer or authorized Volkswagen repair facility (maximum one claim per calendar year).
• Fuel Delivery
  If your vehicle ever runs out of fuel, we will dispatch a service provider to deliver up to ten (10) litres of fuel (at your cost), to get you to the nearest fuelling station (maximum one claim per calendar year).
• Tire Change
  If you get a flat tire, we will have your vehicle's spare tire installed. It is your responsibility to ensure that the spare is inflated and in good operating condition.
• Lockout Service
  In the event that you lock your car keys in your car, we will help you retrieve your keys (maximum one claim per calendar year).
